POSTGRAVITY ART:UMBOT:SYNTAPIENS
June 3rd, 2008
is a visual informance by Slovenian artist group Noordung , which is part of the Neue Slowenische Kunst Collective.
Orbita Noordung or Postgravity Art:Umbot:Syntapiens is spatial installation, presenting Hermann Potocnik / Noordung`s orbital station. Hermann Potocnik was a visionary satellite and space technology pioneer and the presenting informance is a tribute to him. Under the pseudonym Noordung he published his ideas for satellite and space stations back in 1928 and those ideas were fundamental for the creation of geostationary Sputnik satellite.
The informance which can still be seen in Vienna in MAK-Gegenwartskunstdepot at Dannebergplatz is connecting iconography avant-garde and suprematistic iconography with high technology.
