Irwin: MONOCHROMES
January 19th, 2008
Black monochrome, my favourite monochrome made by visual artists Irwin,
who are part of retroavantgarde within art collective Neue slowenische Kunst (NSK).
As their leitmotif “History is not given. We have to construct it.” is already suggesting,
the real construction is actually reconstruction.

LIVE FOR THE MOMENT
January 17th, 2008
What already was or what will be is an illusion.
What is left, is life that constantly flows. It`s a moment.
HEAVEN AND HELL BY ANDRES SERRANO
January 17th, 2008
Serrano embodies curse and provocation, which are two major aspects of his work. However, both aspects are exposed very poetically. He knows how to upset society and he knows what is perceived as a taboo.
Therefore, he poses power, power over people`s minds.
But, if all what he conveys through his art is just a reflection of people`s life? Or even a reflection of their imaginary life? Will their perception change?
“A history of sex” is photo series, which interferes in another stigmatized and stereotyped sphere of life.
Well done!

WINDOW SHOPPING
January 14th, 2008
To visit a new city is always very exciting. I love the image of a city you made it in your mind before the visit and an image, you have experienced. Both are so extraordinary. And what I always remember is the old side of a city.
I have always loved to get lost in old city centres, where you can meet old buildings, museum and small antiquaries and of course, cafeterias. Where you can dream and enjoy the spirit of a city, while the history is embracing you and where the sense of nostalgia is present.
And where buying souvenir is obligatory.
