LAST RIOT

September 24th, 2007

Absurdness or the struggle against each other and against ourselves.

A result of capitalism, globalization, corruption, power and war on one side and innocence, tenderness, purity, inoffensiveness on the other site.

The war is not an art but some behave as if it was.

Although they are speaking our language, we do not understand them.

Another excellent, progressive and controversial work from emerging Russia.

PURPLE FASHION

September 17th, 2007

Purple fashion is a bi-annually magazine on fashion, art, photography and progressive lifestyle and it`s one of my favourite magazine ever. In fact, there are no trends and “must-haves” that are presented but a specific lifestyle. I just love to glance trough it and smell the fresh print of every new issue. It`s inspiring to see all those awesome photo masterpieces. Mmmm…..

Among the greatest contemporary fashion photographers are Jürgen Teller, Terry Richardson, Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, Todd Cole, Alexei Hay which are regular contributors of purple fashion. Besides there is a free supplement available with every issue. How spoiling it is!

Previous issues are already sold out, but some spare editions can be purchased at Amazon. The 8th, fall/winter issue is out now.

GETTY IMAGES

September 5th, 2007

Spencer Platt (USA) is the winner of 2007 of annually famous http://www.worldpressphoto.org competition. The winning photo of 2006 depicts youngsters passing bombed district in southern Beirut, Lebanon on august 15th with a red cabrio.

The captured moment is a synonym for a world, in which we are living.

That moment demonstrates that we have lost strength and that we already have given up. In fact we have become victims of all kind of idealism’s, religious, political, economical,… In other words we are victims of human conflicts. We are not able to understand each other anymore, even the meaning of the words is disappearing. The word compromise is one of those, which has become incomprehensible. Nevertheless, we all are speaking own languages now and therefore starring into different ways.

Above all, human race is already responsible for natural catastrophes, which have become almost an absolute term nowadays. Day by day we are left with such impressions, so as it wouldn`t be enough, we need additional force to destroy ourself.

The lost-lost position has won.

RETROCK CUTTING EDGE FASHION

September 2nd, 2007

The reason of introducing the Retrock store lies in its concept. Retrock is run by young group of people, who tries to revolutionize the idea of fashion by not following any mainstream fashion trends. And they did it.Though they are on a good way to redefine the meaning of the street culture.

Clothes and accessories that are offered are exclusively made by Hungarian and foreign designers. Anyhow, it is a nice opportunity for them to present their creations to their audience.

Among their offerings are clothes made from new and used materials, wide range of bags, belts, shoes, badges and much more curiosities are offered too. There is no doubt that the selection of items is carefully chosen. Even the most freakiest clubgoers will find an outfit for themselves.

What is more, a store resembles a gallery. Rare and extravagant objects of desire (such as red-lip telephone, see photo bellow), printed pillows, stickers, magazines, clocks, robots are also available.

It is a place of indulgence. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this extraordinary showroom on your next trip to Budapest, Hungary.
